KADAPA: YSR Congress party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was leading by about 4,00,00 votes after the completion of around 12 rounds of counting in the bypolls to high-profile Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Jagan was leading over his nearest Congress rival D L Ravindra Reddy, official sources said.
In Pulivendula assembly constituency, Jagan’s mother Vijayalakshmi was leading by about 59,250 votes over her brother-in-law and Congress nominee Y S Vivekananda Reddy after the completion of 15th round of counting.
Counting of votes for the bypolls to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh commenced here on Friday morning amid tight security.
Elaborate arrangements were made for the counting in the seats from where Jagan and his mother Vijayalakshmi, are seeking re-election after quitting Congress.
