Telugu Mahila leader and film actor Kavitha visited the Ameen Peer Dargah, known as Pedda Dargah, here and offered prayers on Thursday.
She came to Kadapa to attend the idol installation ceremony in Vasavi Matha temple at Kamalapuram.
Speaking to newspersons here, Ms. Kavitha charged the Rosaiah government with failing to properly implement welfare schemes and ignoring the pre-poll promises of Congress.
The government was playing truant with students by not releasing funds for scholarships and fee reimbursement, she alleged.
Ms. Kavitha claimed that she had been a fan of Telugu Desam Party founder and actor N.T.Rama Rao and joined the party in order to focus on people’s problems and strive to resolve them. The government failed to contain the steep price rise of essential commodities, but was promoting liquor sales and ignoring belt shops that were coming up in villages.
The Telugu Desam Party would wage an intensive agitation against the unbridled liquor sales, which was shattering the financial position of poorer sections, the Telugu Mahila leader said.
