Brahmamgari Matham decked up for fete

KADAPA: A six-day Aradhana Gurupooja Mahotsavam of saint-foreteller Srimadvirat Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy will be performed at the matham at Kandimallayapalli in Brahmamgari Matham in Kadapa district from May 20.Sri Veerabrahmendra Swamy, who had forecast in the 17th Century the happenings several centuries ahead, was born to Paripurnacharyulu and Prakrithamba in 1608, but spent his childhood as an adopted son of Papagni Mathadhipathi in Karnataka Sri Yanamadala Veerabhojayya and Veerapapamamba.

Sri Veerabrahmendra Swamy wrote his historic “Kalagnanam” at Ravvalakonda and observed penance in Yaganti caves. He narrated the Kalagnanam to Sri Annajayya and installed the idol of Sri Veerabhadra Swamy, which he sculpted, at Alladupalle. Along with his disciples, Sri Veerabrahmendra Swamy preached Vedanta Tatvam all over the country. He accepted a Mohammedan Siddhaiah as his prime disciple and was accorded Brahmaratha Satkaram in Pushpagiri Matham.
