Former minister Y.S. Vive-kananda Reddy threatening that he would not stay in the Congress if the party continued to portray his brother and former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Re-ddy as a public money looter. Mr Vivekananda Reddy made these comments after paying tributes to YSR in Idupulapaya on the occasion of his second death anniversary on Friday. He took out a 40-kilometre long padayatra from Chinna Rangapuram to Idupulapaya to pay tributes to his departed brother.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vive-kananda Reddy came down heavily on the Congress, accusing it of tarnishing YSR’s image by putting his name in the CBI’s fir-st information report in connection with the ongoing probe into YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s properties. He alleged that the Congress had intentionally implicated YSR’s name in the CBI’s FIR after colluding with the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Mr Vivekananda Reddy lambasted the CBI joint director, Mr V.V. Lakshmi-naryana who is probing Jagan’s property case, as a corrupt person. He alleged that the TD was hand-in-glove with the CBI as was evident with the Urvakonda TD legislator, Mr Payavula Kesav’s relation with Mr Lakshmi-narayana. He said that Mr Kesav and Mr Lakshminarayna were brothers-in-law. Responding to the PCC chief, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana’s comments that 150 Congress candidates were defeated in the previous Assembly elections though they had used YSR’s portrait during their election campaigns, he said that it was not fair for Mr Satya-narayana to defame YSR and reminded him that YSR brought the Congress twice into power. He said that he would unite all legislators and leaders who are supporting YSR within the Congress and form a group in the ensuing days.
