Proof of identity must for voters in Council polls

KADAPA: Eligible graduates and teachers can cast their vote in the elections to Rayalaseema West Member of Legislative Council (MLC) constituency slated on March 13 by establishing their identity by producing any of the 13 documents specified by the Election Commission of India, District Collector Shashi Bhushan Kumar said on Wednesday.

Valid proof

The Election Commission has permitted 13 documents as valid proof of identity including…

  • ration card,
  • gun licence,
  • bank passbook,
  • driving licence,
  • passport, PAN card,
  • income certificate,
  • physically challenged certificate,
  • pension document,
  • pattadar passbook,
  • identity cards of Central,
  • State Government and
  • public sector employees and freedom-fighters and registration documents having photographsPresiding officers were instructed to permit the voters producing valid identity, he said.
